    Frequently Asked Questions

    What is dog daycare?

Dog daycare is a service where dogs are taken care of and entertained during the day while their owners are away. They are given the opportunity to socialise with other dogs, play and get exercise, and be taken care of by trained professionals.

How do I know if my dog is suitable for daycare?

Most dogs are suitable for daycare as long as they are well socialised, healthy and up to date on vaccinations. However, some dogs may not be suitable due to behavior or health issues. When you sign up, it’s best you’re honest with our staff. We will run a trial day to make sure your dog is safe and happy in our environment. It’s common for some dogs to not be a good fit for Daycare.

What are the benefits of dog daycare?

Dog daycare provides many benefits such as preventing behavior issues such as separation anxiety, reducing the chances of obesity and other health issues caused by lack of exercise, and giving your pet the opportunity to make new friends and socialise.

What kind of activities will my dog participate in during daycare?

The activities that your dog will participate in during daycare will depend on the specific dog in question. Some like to play with a ball, some don’t. Some like structured playtime, some don’t. We’ll assess your Dog in it’s trial day and how it behaves with others and amend it’s activities based on what we think they’d enjoy.

    Do you do boarding?

Unfortunately we do not do boarding. Our Hours are 8am – 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Is there a limit to how many dogs are in the daycare at one time?

We try and have no more than 10 dogs to each member of staff, although legally it’s 1 member of staff to 15 dogs. We have 3 pens in our main arena, as well as a Nap Room and some individual rooms. All dogs are kept under careful supervision.

Are vaccinations required for my dog to attend daycare?

Yes, we require that dogs are up to date on vaccinations before attending daycare. Including Kennel Cough.

Can I drop off and pick up my dog at any time during the day?

We try and be flexible, although we ask that if it’s at an unusual time you let a member of staff know as the doorbell is quite disruptive. Most drop-offs are between 8am and 10am, and most pickups are between 4pm and 6pm.

Will my dog be supervised at all times during daycare?

Yes, we have staff present at all times to supervise the dogs.

What happens if my dog gets sick or injured while at daycare?

We have a protocol in place for handling sick or injured dogs, and would contact the owner immediately in such case. We ask for an emergency number to be on file when you sign up.

Do you take Raw Fed dogs?

No, unfortunately. If your Dog is Raw Fed they can’t come to our Daycare.

We couldn’t recommend Barking Bee enough. The service they provide gives us complete peace of mind while we’re at work. Our dog has the best time when he’s there - he can’t wait to get in the door in the morning! He is so well looked after by the lovely staff who genuinely care for him and the other dogs they look after.

Our two dogs have attended day care almost since it opened and they absolutely love it. They are two very different dogs however The Barking Bee adapt for each of them and give them the best stimulation, fun and fulfilling day. We've had a poor experience with a dog walker in the past and it made us uneasy finding someone to look after our fur-babies but I 100% trust the staff and think they do a wonderful job.

I dropped our puppy Bo off yesterday for her first day at Barking Bee and couldn't be happier - the girls were so lovely and caring, keeping me up to date with pics and video, and Bo had so much fun. The report card was a lovely touch and wee Bo loved her treats! An amazing option to have for those days when you just can't give your pup the attention they need. Would definitely recommend.

Attended the open day and both myself and bonnie (see below) had a great time, Brogan is really passionate about animals and this comes across as soon as you set foot in the door. Looks great inside and out and is in an ideal location just off the motorway!

My dog has been attending Doggy Day Care since he was 16 weeks old but due to changing jobs we had to find a Doggy Day Care in Lanarkshire. We tried a few but he just wouldn’t settle until we found Barking Bee Co.We attended the open day yesterday and booked Harry in for his first session today. He loved it, he pulled me off my feet trying to get in this morning.Brogan kept me up to date with pictures and when I collected him this afternoon I got a report card. This is an excellent facility ran by dog lovers who really take care of your fur baby. I can not recommend enough.
